LAS 100 MEJORES SEGÚN LA AFI

El American Film Institute (AFI) , prestigiosa institución de la comunidad cinematográfica norteamericana, eligió hace un tiempo atrás, las 100 mejores películas americanas de todos los tiempos. Alrededor de 1500 personas, entre escritores, directores, actores, productores, ejecutivos, historiadores y críticos, nominaron un total de 400 películas realizadas entre los años 1896 a 1996.

Como verán más adelante, esta selección de la AFI , no necesariamente coincide con el criterio de los premios Oscar entregados por la Academia de Artes y Ciencias cinematográficas. De hecho El Ciudadano Kane, considerada por la AFI como la mejor película de la historia, el año 1941 en los premios oscar, fué nominada en 8 categorías , ganando sólo en la de mejor guíon original.

Si bien para muchos (incluyéndome) este ranking no es para NADA un referente de lo que es buen cine, considerando que no sólo se hacen películas en E.E.U.U. (también existe el resto del mundo, latinoamérica, europa y más), de algo sirve, y mal que mal, uno termina coincidiendo en muchas.
